Starting with December, INCDMF activity will take place under a new slogan: "Competitivity, performance and High Quality only by High Tech INCDMF Mechatronic Products!".

The National Institute for Research and Development in Precision Mechanics, established in, the single institution of it kind having mechatronics, an innovative and integrating science as its activity field changes its name according to HG. no. 1007 from December 3rd to “The National Institute for Research and Development in Mechatronics and Measurement Technique - INCDMTM” Bucharest. This change in the denomination of the Institute is aimed at reflecting better its actual profile, since the Institute is more oriented on developing high-tech mechatronic products that use a knowledge not only from the area of precision mechanics, but also from that of informatics, electronics, robotics and sensorics. Nowadays, when worldwide researchers speak of nano-mechatronics, and the dimension reduction process and that of perfecting measurement techniques are advancing at an accelerated pace, the existence of this Institute is a plus to the Romanian science, especially since our experts and their brevets, works, prototypes are awarded distinctions every year in both national and international contests. The Government Decision was published in “Monitorul Oficial” on September the 8th and is to become operative in 30 days after this date.



INCDMF organized the international conference "6TH Workshop on European scientific and industrial collaboration on promoting advanced technologies in manufacturing - WESIC'08" between september 25th and 26th

The National Institute for Research and Development in Precision Mechanics organized the "6th Workshop on European Scientific and Industrial Collaboration on Promoting Advanced Technologies in Manufacturing - WESIC'08" between September 25th and September 26th. This event took place under the auspices of The Romanian Ministry of Economy and Finances and of The Romania Ministry of Education, Research and Youth - National Authority for Scientific Research. As a leader of the Romanian Mechatronic Scientific Area, INCDMF understands the essential place that regional collaboration plays in the development of this innovative science, also underlined by the European Union Policies. In order to stimulate this process, INCDMF aimed, by organizing the WESIC’08 Workshop, to provide access for all interested companies, universities, institutes and research centers to the latest information in the field, as well for those related to this promising science. Also, WESIC'08 was meant to be more than an ordinary conference: a real forum where these institutions could connect, identify virtual partners for European projects, set up research agreements or thematic networks and debate the premises of further collaborations, find technology transfer opportunities, seek solutions to common issues and, last, but not least, discuss the future of mechatronics. The aim of this international workshop was approaching the macaroni field by covering themes such as: macaroni systems; advanced manufacturing processes; intelligent systems in manufacturing and control; computer integrated manufacturing; robotics; modeling and simulation; embedded control systems; image processing and computer vision; bio-medical systems – bio-macaronis; fault diagnosis; communications and distributed systems; technological transfer in macaroni and micro-macaronis - high-tech macaroni products; industrial services of high productivity and high added value; sensors and transducers; systems and information engineering; integrating micro-engineering; intelligent measurement technique. The WESIC'08 International Conference benefited by an excellent organization committee: the main co-organizer was "PIAP" – The Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements in Warsaw, Poland, and the national organizers included: The "Politehnica" University of Bucharest, "Valahia" University of Targoviste, The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, The General Association of the Engineers in Romania, The Romanian Association of Precision Mechanics and Mecatronics from Romania – AMFOR, The Romanian Society of Mecatronics – SROMECA, The Professional Association of the Romanian Patronage of Precision Mechanics, Optics and Mecatronics - APROMECA and EUROP_RO EUropean Robotics Platform. During the International Conference, several distinctions were awarded: participation diplomas, excellence diplomas, "Congratulations" diploma, as well as the "Traian Damian" Prize.



INCDMF has taken part with two brevets and was awarded a golden medal and a silver medal in the "International inventions saloon in Croatia, Zagreb - ARCA 2008"

The National Institute for Research and Development in Precision Mechanics has added two more precious medals to it international and national scientific event record on occasion of the "INTERNATIONAL Inventions Saloon in Croatia, Zagreb - ARCA 2008" (September 16th – 21th). There, the two products designed by Ph. D. Professor EurIng. Gheorghe Ion Gheorghe and Ph. D Georgeta Capris were awarded a golden medal and a silver one. The product that won the golden medal is "DIGITIL – INTELLIGENT MECATRONIC MICRO-SYSTEM FOR HIGH PRECISION DIMENSIONAL MEASUREMENTS" – which provides industrial and metrological measurement – sub microns and microns precision, continuous and un continuous flow, linear sizes and its deviations for parts, passing with a constant speed from a transporting band under the measurement top/pick of the intelligent micro system with incremental photo electric transducer and also makes prompt signals for the displacement of the verified vertical quota, opposite to the values for an precised admissible tolerance interval, by an original dedicate software. The second award-wining product is "CALORCRO - Portable electronic equipment for evaluating the human gait energetic expenditure". The device applies a new method for evaluating the gait energetic expenditure, by a mathematical algorithm based on measuring the vertical ground reaction force and on finding the coordinates of this force application point. The two mechatronic products were presented at the "International Inventions Saloon in Croatia, ZAGREB - ARCA 2008" by Eng. Iulian Ilie.
